Creators of beautiful boxes

Welcome to our website, and thank you for your interest.

We have been handcrafting natural form wooden boxes in our Devon workshops since 1983.  In 1993 we won the prestigious Ted Mahoney Award for the most innovative new product at the British Craft Trade Fair.

Over the years, we have found that our yew boxes have proved equally popular with men and women, and have myriad storage uses - jewellery, trinkets, keepsakes, spare change, desktop tidy, hairpins, keys, makeup, and even teabags.  We were even once asked if a box could be used as a butter dish!  Some collectors just buy them for the beauty of the wood and the tactile pleasure which it imparts, they don’t feel the need to be able to put it to practical use.

Although we originally made only very basic boxes, over time we have extended our range to include the following:

Boxes with lift off lids - rustic and contemporary shapes

Nests and chests with hinged lids - rustic and contemporary shapes

Specials with multi compartments and trays

Ring boxes (also ideal for holding crystals, studs, small earrings, and other treasures)

Bookends

Tealight holders

Vases in jewel colours, mounted in wood

Each item is handcrafted, individual, unique, and made from solid yew (other than the wood-mounted vases) following the grain and contour of the wood.  They are finished with wax polish and felted underneath.
